OPI Brazil Nail Art

Hi Everyone! Pardon me for the lack of an original title. This is nail art that I created while swatching the OPI Brazil collection. I really loved seeing the yellow and teal together and wanted to try something with the two of them. I must confess thought that this isn't the final look I was going for, but I had a gut feeling that I wouldn't like my final result and stopped to take photos along the way. I love the simplicity and clean lines of this look...

For this look, I used a base of OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana, the beautiful yellow cream. Then using a striping brush and OPI AmazON... AmazOFF, I added the stripes. I was (and still am) really excited about how straight my lines turned out. Freehand nail art is always a stressful experience for me and I can't express how excited I get when the lines don't go wobbly...

And here it is, my confession at the failed attempt. I wanted to create a simple plaid look by adding the OPI I Can Teal You Like Me. This sheer tint is blue, but layered over the yellow takes on a beautiful teal color. It is so thick and syrupy though that I wasn't able to achieve the clean look I had in mind. Especially devastating was smudging my thin teal lines that I was so excited about. Also, I was hoping that the square where the two sheer lines intersect would be darker, similar to what you see in a plaid pattern. I know this isn't awful, but it is not what I wanted so I'm calling it a fail...

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
